On Monday, before Mr Steuart Macnaghten and Mr. G. Atherley, magistrates, Dangerfield Stanley, a gipsy, was summoned for assaulting Solomon Stanley, his brother, on the 2nd instant. Mr. Pocock appeared for defendant. It seemed that a dispute occurred about some money, and defendant struck complainant, who is blind, a severe blow on the head.
Witnesses were called on both sides, and after a long hearing defendant was fined £1 8s 6d, including costs.
