The Gipsy Predicament

Monday, 24th July 1775

On Friday night the 14th inst, as some Worchestershire Gardeners were passing towards Birmingham, they, on a sudden, heard the cries of a Human voice from an adjacent hedge; when, on dismounting from their horses, they discovered a young Gentleman of a neighbouring village stripped quite naked, with his hands and feet tied.

He had staid out late at a Friend's house, and, on his return home, was met by three Female Gipsies, who thus stripped and confined him.

The Gardeners took the most humane care of him.
