NotesJohn Buckle, reputed to be a Gypsie, deceased September 21, 1657, at John Peryns house, upon the Ffosse, in Shipton Parish, in Gloucestershire and was buried in King Athelstones chapell by King Athelstone, and the Lady Marshall, within the abbie church, at Malmesbury. This burial was September 23, 1657. Howbeit, he was taken up again by the meanes of Thomas Ivye, esq. who then lived in the abbie, and by the desires and endeavoures of others, out of the said chappell was removed into the church yarde, and there was re-buried neear the east side of the church poorch, October 7, 1657, in the presence of Thomas Ivye, of the abbie, esq; Pleadwell of Mudgell, esq; Rich. Whitemore, of sloughte in the countie of Glouster, and Dr. Lui of Malmesbury, with very many others.
